Dental Care Alliance (DCA) proudly announces that Christine Heald has joined the DCA leadership team as Chief Development Officer. David Pegg, an Ally Since 2017, will take on a new role spearheading efforts to elevate DCA’s overall growth strategy and direction as Chief Growth Officer for the organization.

Christy is an inspiring healthcare executive with 13 years of experience in corporate and business development strategy, operations, and working with private equity. With a demonstrated record of driving growth by successfully completing acquisitions, creating strategic partnerships, building and growing effective teams, and growing sales, Christy is a proven leader who will be responsible for overseeing and managing the expanding Business Development team at DCA. With a thoughtful and partnership-focused growth strategy, she will lead DCA’s efforts to expand the number of dental offices that it supports through affiliations and mergers.

Previously, Christy served as Senior Vice President of Business Development for Surgery Partners. She was instrumental in establishing the business development department for Surgery Partners in 2007 and grew the business from five locations to 98, delivering consistent growth of 15-20% annually, creating over $1B in revenue, during her tenure. She led a team of 15 business development professionals and directed all aspects of corporate development, acquisitions, de novos, and joint venture partnerships, including recruitment and syndication of new physician partners.

Christy has also held pharmaceutical sales and managerial positions at GlaxoSmithKline and ADP, respectively. She earned degrees in both Finance and Economics at Stetson University, graduating summa cum laude; and completed a concentration in econometrics at Oxford University.

For the last five years, David Pegg has led the team responsible for the tremendous growth and strategic business development for Dental Care Alliance; and he will now take those efforts to the next level as DCA’s Chief Growth Officer. As part of these efforts, David will elevate and architect inorganic strategies and initiatives that will fuel DCA’s trajectory of growth and perpetuate its position as the best dental support organization (DSO) in the industry.

Under David’s leadership, DCA has completed close to 60 affiliations and added 10 new states to the leading DSO’s footprint. Thus far in 2022, David and the talented team have led DCA’s continued growth with 10 new affiliates, adding 23 offices including entrance into Tennessee which represents its 22nd state of operations.

“Since joining DCA in 2017, the goal has always been to build a best-in-class network of affiliated practices led by doctors and teams that are at the peak of their profession. Our Business Development team has done an exceptional job of delivering on the that commitment over the last handful of years,” said Pegg.

Going forward, the tenets of our business development strategy remain the same, but our goals will continue to grow year over year. I have known Christy for many years now and the opportunity to bring her leadership and company-building experience to our team and our go-forward goals was a perfect match.”
