Dr. Dennis Corona has been a practicing dentist for 25 years and is a key member of the DCA clinical leadership team. He has held many roles within DCA from partner chairside dentist to clinical mentor and Dental Director in Florida and Michigan. He has led growth performance in his practices and opened a successful de novo office in partnership with DCA.
One of the proudest moments was having his son, Vincent, join the DCA family following his graduation from dental school in 2017. Dr. Corona has been able to grow his career, and watch his son launch his own career here too.
“When my son graduated from dental school, I wanted him to have experience in a variety of practices so he could see different methods and techniques and gain the experience he would need to take on a bigger role. DCA was instrumental in helping to train and transition my son.” When asked why he chose DCA over other DSOs, Dr. Corona said, “DCA was founded by dentists who have experienced the same challenges I was facing. Their leadership team has a doctor-centric philosophy, and they grant me a lot of autonomy and space to practice the way I see fit.”
Dr. Corona was introduced to DCA through his acquaintance with Dr. Steven Matzkin who founded DCA in 1991. “I had been practicing for about 14 years, and I was already looking forward to retirement. The general population has no idea how challenging the dental industry can be,” says Dr. Corona. “DCA takes care of things that many dentists just don’t have time for. Affiliating with DCA has allowed me to stay in dentistry much longer than I would have otherwise.”
“Additionally, DCA helps dentists navigate the business side of a practice,” says Dr. Corona. These are things that most of us weren’t trained for and don’t find particularly appealing. As a practice grows, this becomes even more important.” As Dr. Corona transitioned away from chairside dentistry to focus on his role as DCA Clinical Director and mentor a few years ago, Dr. Vincent Corona has embraced his opportunity to lead the practice and focus on patient care.
