Patient Service Representative

Overview

We are looking for a Patient Service Representative in Virginia Beach, VA 23452 to assist our clinical team by providing a high level of patient care and satisfaction while operating in a team-based environment. The ideal candidate will require good multitasking skills. Would need to have knowledge in dealing with dental insurance companies, scheduling, checking patients in and out. Comfortable with posting insurance checks and answering phones. Must have strong communication skills and willing to help patients. We provide benefits, and a nice work environment.

Hours: Mon 8-6 Tues – Friday 8-5 and 1 sat a month

Responsibilities

The Receptionist is the first line of customer service for all patients and visitors entering our office. They will greet patients, sign them in, schedule future appointments, and handle incoming phone calls. They will assist patients in accordance with the training they have received ensuring patients receive the best possible service.

  • Customer Service; warmly acknowledge, smile, and greet patients upon arrival and dismissal
  • Respond promptly to patient questions and concerns in alignment with DCA Policies
  • Answering Telephones
  • Scheduling Appointments
  • Maintaining Appointment Book
  • Confirming Appointments
  • Follow up on no shows/cancellation of Appointments
  • Register Patients on sign in sheet
  • Post charges and payments to patient accounts
  • Checking voice-mail on a daily basis
  • Maintain a clean and friendly waiting area for patients

Qualifications

  • Experience in a dental, medical, or other health-care office is preferred
  • Knowledge of insurance plans (HMO/PPO), is a plus
  • Experience answering telephone
  • Must have exceptional customer service skills
