Our model has evolved, but our commitment is unwavering
Established in 1991 by dentists for dentists, Dental Care Alliance’s success is the result of our commitment to improving the well-being of both patients and dental professionals through innovative and proven practice-support solutions. Fast forward 30 years, and DCA has approximately 400 allied practices in 24 states, encompassing all facets of general dentistry and all recognized dental specialties.

Dr. Steven Matzkin starts DCA with 2 practices in Florida

Mitch Olan joins DCA as COO, now serves as Executive Chairman of the Board

1997
Dave Nichols joins DCA as CFO, now serves as a DCA Board Member

1997
DCA becomes a publically traded company

1998
DCA affiliates with 28 practices in Pennsylvania and Georgia

1999
DCA merges with Gentle Dental to form Interdent

2000
DCA affiliates with 20 practices in Maryland and Indiana

2001
DCA separates from Interdent to operate as a private company again

DCA invests $70 million in infrastructure, renovations and relocations; affiliates with 20 additional practices

DCA begins their relationship with private equity partner, Quad C

DCA affiliates with a 55 location practice group led by Mike Bileca and Dr. Don Gallo

DCA adds Imagix Dental, a 9-location group in Georgia

DCA brings in Harvest Capital Partners, a larger PE firm with greater resources to support growth

North East Dental Management led by Dr. Craig Abramowitz, grows to 65 practices and joins DCA. He now serves as a DCA Board Member.

DCA affiliates with Konikoff Dentistry, 8 locations in Virginia Beach. Dental Associates of Florida also joins DCA with 11 locations in the Tampa area

Jerry Rhodes joins DCA as Chief Executive Officer

Among other affiliations for the year, DCA affiliates with 10 orthodontic affiliations in multiple states: Klar Vorhees Orthodontics, Eckels Orthodontics and Ashcraft Orthodontic Group

DCA surpasses 300 supported dental offices
