Dental Care Alliance (DCA) proudly announce the affiliation of VA Smiles, a nine doctor, four location comprehensive oral health care practice with locations in Northeast Virginia. With multiple locations and appointments six days a week, the practice prides itself on making a visit to the dentist as convenient and as comfortable as possible.

VA Smiles is committed to creating lasting relationships based on respect, compassion, and empathy, while helping people to achieve their best smile. The staff and doctors at VA Smiles specialize in providing leading-edge dental and orthodontic care that is tailored to each patient’s unique situation.

Services include routine exams, cleanings, fillings, emergency dental care, cosmetic dentistry, whitening, veneers, Invisalign, Orthodontics, implants, full-mouth reconstruction, oral and maxillofacial surgery, prosthodontics (bridges, crowns, dentures), endodontic surgery, and root canals. Laser, sports, and sedation dentistry are also among the services offered. With multiple dentists and oral healthcare specialists in the practice, the practice offers a one stop approach vs needing multiple practices.

The philosophy of the practice is to guide patients along a path of optimal health and wellness for life, with an emphasis on dental health. In this non-judgmental environment, staff and doctors consistently aim to deliver five-star service by treating every patient as an individual, while delivering exceptional care that consistently exceeds patients’ expectations. Patients are made to feel welcome, well-informed, and supported as they achieve their best smile.

The Practice, which has been a fixture in the community for 25 years, is led by partners, Dr. Sasan Ahmadiyar and Dr. Saeid Motamedi. Dr. Sasan Ahmadiyar earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery from Marquette University in 1997. Dr. Saeid Motamedi earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery from Case Western Reserve University in 1989, served a surgical residency in periodontology and implantology, and received his Master of Science in dentistry in 1992.

25 years ago, when I started my career in dentistry, I didn’t know what my future would look like. I was out of dental school with little experience in clinical dentistry, as a result there were few job opportunities for a young dentist. At the time it was very difficult to find a practice to give a chance to a young dentist without any experience, but a DCA allied practice believed in me and gave me the opportunity that I needed,” said Dr. Ahmadiyar.

“When I look back, I believe that was my greatest chance to learn and experience in the field. A DCA allied practice not only gave me an opportunity but also took me under the wing of great mentors from whom I learned a lot. I learned how to practice dentistry and somehow about the business aspect as well. Five years after I started working at one of the DCA affiliated offices, I opened my first practice with the idea in my mind to grow and have multiple practices supported by DCA.

Fast forward 20 years later with all the accomplishments with today’s challenges of running a business I decided to affiliate with DCA and somehow it felt I am going back home again where I started. I went with the idea in mind that I didn’t have to deal with the business part of dentistry which was getting more difficult every day and just focus on treating my patients where I enjoyed the most. DCA with nearly 400 supported dental practices and great experience to run the successful business allows a practitioner to focus on what matters the most which is the well-being of our patients and leave the most difficult task of running the non-clinical business to the experts. I highly recommend to anyone considering such a move to affiliate with DCA and live life the way it should be, without worrying about how to run the non-clinical business in today’s challenging environment. I’m sure I will be able to add more years to my practice dentistry because of affiliating with DCA.”

This affiliation continues the rapid growth and momentum for the organization and brings DCA’s footprint in Virginia to 56 allied practices, and DCA’s total footprint to over 390 allied practices across the US. This affiliation increases DCA’s presence in Northern Virginia as DCA strategically builds market density to serve the lifetime needs of patients in these communities.

“We are tremendously proud to welcome VA Smiles ‘back home’ to affiliate with Dental Care Alliance,” shared Mandy Gast, Vice President, Business Development. “The time and care that Drs. Ahmadiyar and Motamedi devoted during the diligence process reflects how important this affiliation is to them, and how much they care about the continued and future success of their staff and patients. We look forward to working together and continuing to grow in Northern Virginia,” she added.

Dental Care Alliance’s mission is to advance the practice of dentistry by partnering with and supporting dental professionals to create a lifetime of healthy smiles. DCA currently supports over 400 allied practices and more than 885 dentists across 22 states. DCA’s allied practices represent all dental specialties and treat patients under more than 140 brand names.
